About Mary Anne Furey
FUREY-OUS BLOOD- MARE'S EARLY START: Mary Anne was born in the outskirts of Philadelphia into the Furey family-- a family with artistic passion embedded in the bloodline itself. With relatives talented in the fields of music, stage acting, and more, Mary Anne was exposed to the alluring characteristics of a performing artist's life at a young age. Her biggest inspiration at a young age was an actress who also bore the title of Mary Anne's older sister. Always seeing her big sister Nancy on stage, Mare wished for nothing more than to be like her; some of Mary Anne's earliest memories are of herself singing and dancing on the public bus with her grandmother, prepping herself to be onstage with Nancy.
Onstage is where she went: Mary Anne's first professional performance was when she was eight years old in "Once on a Summer's Day." The performance was directed by Scott Schwartz, the son of Stephen Schwartz. It was this performance that solidified Mary Anne's passion for the stage and desire to pursue the life of a performer.

DRESS REHEARSAL- EDUCATION AND BUILDING EXPERIENCE: Throughout her school-years, Mare took every opportunity she could to build her experience as a performer; she was in countless shows as an actor/singer in high school, practiced constantly as a dancer, and even, eventually, gave dance and voice lessons.
When the curtain opened on Mary Anne's life as a college student, the young performer decided to go 100% to major in theatre-- of course, it was a huge persuader in her decision when she found out that doing calculus would not be required in the theatre program. During her university years, she spent her summers performing professionally in the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. After four years of intense acting study at De Sales University in Pennsylvania, Mary Anne graduated with a BA in Acting.

Between the lines, teaching and coaching steadily grew as a passion for Mare, as she loves being able to inspire individuals whom share the same dream. Most recently, fate has found Mary Anne in Sarasota, F.L., where she cannot wait to begin to explore the script of the next Act of her life.
